PET and HDPE plastics #1 and #2 recycling symbols

These are the only plastics we can process.
Common uses for #1 plastics include:
Beverage containers
Salad dressings
Soap bottles

Common uses for #2 plastics include:
Milk jugs
Detergent jugs

Cardboard and NON-Glossy Paper

All cardboard must fit into the provided bin.
We cannot transport items outside their bins.
Shipping boxes and cereal-type boxes are accepted

Tin and Aluminum

These can be combined into a single recycling bin. Compressing aluminum cans helps ensure all fit in the bin We cannot transport loose items outside their bins.

Cat food cans are recyclable aluminum when washed well.
Dog food cans are NOT always recyclable. Some are made from steel rather than tin. Please double check before recycling (and of course, wash well)

Please Do Not "Wish Cycle"

To prevent contamination and diversion to landfills, recycling bins containing ineligible or unclean items will not be picked up.

Unfortunately, cannot make exceptions.

We DO NOT Accept:

Things that clog machinery and cost hours (or days if waiting on parts!) to fix
Things that clog machinery and cost hours (or days if waiting on parts!) to fix

Anything smaller than a credit card
Anything long and tangly
Grocery bags, wrappers, shrink/bubble wrap, zip locks, etc

No caps, loose soda tabs, zip ties, etc
No garden hoses, Christmas lights, zip ties, etc
Please also do not organize your recyclables into plastic bags prior to placing into the bin. All items within the bin must be loose.

Cottage cheese containers, etc

Any plastic soft enough to poke a hole through

Sandwich bags also often to include multiple polymer resins which cannot be separated

The grease and food residue interferes with chemical processing of the cardboard – ruining the entire batch!

They’re lined with plastic, which cannot be separated from cardboard at our recycling center

They’re dirty and are neither cardboard nor paper so can’t be recycled as either
These are coated with plastic or entirely plastic based
